As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the scriptures are a big part of my life. While I'm not as disciplined in reading them every day as counseled by our leaders they still hold a deep and important part of my heart and soul. Words, however, have always alluded me. I don't understand them. I can't always, or sometimes ever, make any sense of them. Which is partly why I have such a hard time reading my scriptures on a regular basis. I don't understand them.
This series will be an attempt for me to better understand the Living Word, the wonderful teachings given to me in scripture. My goal is to read scripture as regularly as possible and to better understand what I have read by creating photographs inspired by those scriptures. These will all be self-portraits as this is a very personal project and one that I hope will better me as a person and photographer.
