Back in my college days at BYU there was this mentality among the women: waiting. Often I would hear complaints from these women "Why is no one asking me out?" as they sat there on their couch doing nothing. And I questioned myself if they don't like their current situation why aren't they doing something about it? Why are they just sitting around waiting? Why don't they go out and ask someone themselves instead of complaining and whining?

In waiting for fate, providence, luck, what have you, nothing will ever happen. In the case of the young woman above she waited and waited for her prince charming to come, but he never did, he did not know she was waiting for him. And in her waiting, with her inaction, she begins to fade away and become a part of her stagnation, slowly disappearing.
