Throwback Thursday: Revisiting the Textures of Erie

Some say what's done is done and you shouldn't revisit the past. But I feel it is our past that makes who we are. And sometimes it is necessary to look at our past in order to learn even more about who we are currently and who we want to be in the future.

In my continuing search to learn what sort of an artist I am I have been reconsidering my old work. I'm looking for those that still speak to me. A lot of it has been silent. But there is one series that I am glad still holds a song for me. My series from Lake Erie.

It was a time when in my photography I wasn't worrying about what others wanted to see in a photograph. It was all about what was inspiring me. What I wanted to see in a photograph. I think that's why these pieces still have a place for me.

I'm glad that this part of my photographic past still has roots for who I am as an artist.
